News: Boom! awarded Sports Direct News digital PR brief
Sports Direct News the online news platform for Britain’s biggest sportswear retailer Sports Direct has awarded its digital PR brief to creative communications agency, Boom!
www.sportsdirect.com, a £1 million joint venture between Mike Ashley’s retail brand and My London News, went live this week following a 6-month soft launch period. The site features an average daily output of over 100 sports stories and will focus on breaking exclusive sports news as well as providing up-to-the-minute stories, analysis and information.
The site focuses on football, rugby, F1, cricket, athletics, golf, horse racing and cycling stories and also features the latest sports business news.
“This website has a very realistic chance of having a big impact on the fortunes of Sports Direct,” said Oskar Thorvaldsson, Managing Director of Sports Direct News.
“We’ve recruited an exciting team of experienced and hungry young sports journalists. We’re looking forward to Boom! building awareness of SportsDirectNews.com with sports fans everywhere.”
Boom! will be focusing its efforts on building key strategic relationships with national online sports and lifestyle media, sports blogging communities and building and engaging with the site’s social media channels.
