IPCN appoints Boom!
China’s leading TV format rights distributor and producer has appointed Boom! with a PR brief to build their corporate profile.
IPCN has appointed us to raise their corporate awareness in a global B2B brief that raises their profile and gains wider recognition around the world for the business as leaders in TV format adaptation, sales, production and branded entertainment, providing a gateway for Western TV and consumer brands to the burgeoning Chinese market.
IPCN has brokered more than 35 deals bringing more than 5,000 hours of international TV to the Chinese broadcast market. These include the adaptation of some of the World’s most successful formats such as ‘The Voice of China’, ‘Super Nanny’, ‘Secret Millionaire’ and ‘China’s Got Talent’.
IPCN also brokers innovative branded content/ TV sponsorship deals and event creation for domestic Chinese and global brands. Recent successes include deals with Proctor & Gamble – that funded the launch of the ‘China’s Got Talent’ and placed Head and Shoulders, Gillette and Olay brands in front of over half a billion Chinese viewers – and a TV sponsorship and multi platform deal on ‘The Voice of China’ with headphone brand Beats by Dr Dre.
The company also recently introduced an innovative on screen fundraising initiative with China’s popular online payment solution Alipay. During the Chinese broadcast of IPCN-produced ‘Secret Millionaire’, viewers were encouraged to scan an on screen QR code with their smart phone to make a donation to charities featured in the series, raising over £1million. IPCN’s brand partnership activity is driven by its subsidiary company 80 Entertainment.
IPCN is headquartered in Shanghai with offices in Beijing, London and Hong Kong.
Justin Crosby, Founder of Boom! said: “We’re delighted to represent IPCN. They join our growing portfolio of leading international content creation businesses”.
“Boom! demonstrated a clear understanding of our businesses and ambitious growth plans. They are ideally placed to help us communicate our unique position as a gateway to the Chinese market for international TV formats and consumer brands. Also Justin’s persistence is admirable!” said Rebecca Yang, founder and CEO of IPCN.
