Raw’s ‘Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport’ commissioned for fourth series by ITV

Leading TV Production Company Raw has been commissioned by ITV to produce a fourth series of the hit documentary series ‘Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport’.

Featuring a new half-hour format, the new (6 x 30’) series is set against the backdrop of Heathrow hitting maximum capacity. A bumper 2017 has broken all passenger and cargo records to date and staff are working around the clock to secure Britain’s future as a global trading powerhouse.

In this pressure-cooker environment, a single mistake or malfunction can cause havoc all over the airport – whether it’s drunk passengers, a baggage system failure or rubbish on the runways.

This new series will retain the show’s hit formula of revealing the human stories of some of the 7,500 staff running Britain’s biggest airport. The popular returning cast of Heathrow staffers include straight-talking Passenger Experience Manager Sue, larger than life Check-In Girl Carrie-Ann and Border Force Bob – who is always on the lookout for fake passports – as well being a closet plane spotter.
They all bring their unique, warm and engaging take on life inside Heathrow.

Executive Producer for Raw is Tom Barry and series producer is Juliette Murray-Topham. The series is commissioned by ITV by Satmohan Panesar, Commissioning Editor and Sue Murphy, Head of Factual Entertainment.

Executive Producer, Tom Barry said: We’re thrilled to be back at Heathrow and looking forward to seeing some much loved faces from previous series, as well as meeting some new ones.”
