Drive announces multiple international acquisitions for ‘Queen of the World’

Drive, the leading production-funding agency and distributor, today announces multiple international broadcaster acquisitions for ‘Queen of the World’, the acclaimed 2 x 60’ documentary series that offers a unique insight into The Queen’s role as a figure on the global stage.

RTL in The Netherlands, NRK in Norway and TVNZ in New Zealand have all picked up the landmark series, which tells the story of how the Commonwealth has been a central focus and passion throughout Her Majesty’s life.

‘Queen of the World’ has also been acquired by YLE in Finland and ITV Choice in Asia, the Middle East and Africa to air across more than 88 countries.

The series was produced for ITV and recently aired on HBO in the US and Seven Network Australia, in a pre-sale also brokered by Drive. The show features behind-the-scenes moments with the Sovereign and other members of the Royal Family – including the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Princess Royal and the Countess of Wessex.

Oxford Films, maker of previous documentary films featuring the British Royal family including ‘Our Queen’, ‘Our Queen at 90’ and ‘Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy’, produced the series.
