Nicola Larder joins Buccaneer Media

Boom! client Buccaneer Media announces the appointment of ‘Marcella’ co-creator Nicola Larder as Executive Producer, Development

Boom! client Buccaneer Media, the London-headquartered production company created by British drama producer Tony Wood, today announces the appointment of ‘Marcella’ co-creator Nicola Larder as Executive Producer, Development.

Nicola has previously worked on drama development with a range of broadcasters and production companies including World Productions and Leopard Drama. Nicola previous worked with Buccaneer Media on their unscripted series for Sky Living, ‘Desi Rascals’.

Nicola’s career has also included prime time drama roles include Development Executive at Sky – where she oversaw major commissions ‘Dracula’ and ‘The Tunnel’ – Producer of ‘Waterloo Road’at Shed Productions and Producer of Casualty for BBC.

Nicola joins Buccaneer Media following the rating success of ‘Marcella’, which Nicola co created with writer Hans Rosenfeldt. The series’ first episode smashed ITV’s 9pm slot average of 4.3m (20.2%) attracting 6.1m viewers (27.6%) and has maintained strong viewing figures for subsequent episodes.

Netflix has acquired the series for the world outside the UK and Ireland.

Reporting to CEO Tony Wood and working alongside Buccaneer Media’s other Executive Producer of Development Andrea Dewsbery, Nicola will be developing a slate of scripted series with internationally renowned writers.

Buccaneer Media is in production and development on a wide range of both scripted and unscripted programming including a TV series based on the Sci-Fi movie ‘Robot Overlords’.
