Boom! client UK factual production house World Media Rights announces REELZ to be the exclusive U.S. broadcaster for its new original series ‘The Real Story of…’ (w/t).

Boom! client, UK factual production house World Media Rights today announced that REELZ will be the exclusive U.S. broadcaster for its new original 6 x 60’ series ‘The Real Story of…’ (working title).

‘The Real Story of…’ uncovers the true stories upon which some of the most famous, Oscar®-nominated movies of recent years were based, but as this series shows, what really happened is far more intriguing, thrilling and revealing than what made it on to the big screen.

The series will harness World Media Rights’ expertise in marrying dramatic recreation with news archive footage of the actual events and eyewitness testimony.  Separating fact from fiction, ‘The Real Story of…’ will introduce viewers to the real people behind extraordinary events and the real drama of the true stories.

The series is London-based World Media Rights first production for REELZ and was negotiated for REELZ by SVP Programming Steve Cheskin with World Media Rights’ CEO Alan Griffiths. Executive Producers are Steve Cheskin for REELZ and World Media Rights’ Creative Director Matthew Barrett.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment will distribute the series internationally (excluding US).
