Quintus Studios Greenlights New Quintus Original Project ‘Enter At Your Own Risk’

Quintus Studios, the international factual content distributor and channel owner has greenlit a
new factual co-production project that will take Free Documentary viewers to some of the world's most dangerous places

Boom! PR client Quintus Studios, the international factual content distributor and channel owner today announces it has greenlit a new Quintus Original factual co-production project that will take viewers to some of the world’s most exotic and dangerous places.

‘Enter At Your Own Risk’ (w/t) (4 x 60’) will take its audience to some of the world’s most dangerous places, offering an intimate glimpse into the lives of those who call these places home.

From the hidden corners of Brazil’s favelas concealed behind the renowned Copacabana Beach, to the notorious Klong Toey slum near the backpacker haven of Koh San Road in Bangkok, these picturesque settings belie the grim realities beneath the surface. High murder rates, gang dominance through extortion, and rampant drug-related issues plague these areas.

The first episode, which will debut on Quintus Studios ‘Free Documentary’ AVOD channel in April 2024, delves deep into the heart of Khayelitsha, Cape Town, one of the world’s largest slums, born during the apartheid era of the 1980s. Decades of neglect have transformed this township into a densely populated hotbed of violence and criminality.

Quintus Studios develops and funds its own unscripted TV projects via a disruptive producer partnership model which sees indies and freelance producers investing into projects in return for a greater revenue share, speeding up the commissioning process and awarding producers larger potential commercial revenues from projects in the longer term.

Previous Quintus Originals funded in this way include ‘Banged Up: My Story’ (Middlechild Productions), Wild Cats’ (Big Media), ‘Mission to Collision: Kenya’s Flying Trucks’ (Africa Live Media), ‘Poverty to Paradise: Las Vegas’ (New Take Films / Westover Productions), ‘Illegal Gold: The New Cocaine’ (Mazdoc) and ‘Red Zones’ (Frederick Gillingham). These shows have been acquired by major broadcasters including ZDFinfo, Welt, Viaplay, n-tv, Discovery and AMC.

Freelance producer/ director Joel Ross (‘Adults Only’ – Future Studios for Channel 5, ‘60 Days on Housing Estates with Ed Stafford’ – Naked Television for Channel 4) will produce ‘Enter At Your Own Risk’ (w/t). Executive producer is Adam Jacobs for Quintus Studios.

Quintus Studios owns and operates AVOD channel brands which combine to attract over 11 million subscribers including Free Documentary (4.6m subscribers on YouTube alone) FD Real, FD History, FD Nature, FD Paranormal and ENDEVR. It also owns and operates FAST channel ‘Radical Docs’ which is available on platforms including Rakuten TV.

“I’m thrilled to be working with another great freelance producer on this project that taps into the amazing success we’ve had with our dangerous places strand of programming” said Adam Jacobs, Creative Director at Quintus Studios.
